Project Performance Company LLC (PPC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Data Systems Analysts, Inc. (DSA), an employee-owned professional services provider delivering secure, innovative technology and information management solutions, announced its agreement to deliver an OSIsoft PI-based solution at Virginia Tech. This solution will provide a single access point for all operational data from the main campus utilities infrastructure, automate electrical outage management, and support their Climate Action Commitment that will create a more sustainable future for the university.
Virginia Tech is the Commonwealth’s second-largest public university. The main campus in Blacksburg, Virginia is spread over 2,600 acres and includes more than 200 buildings and an airport. The Virginia Tech Electric Service (VTES) is the provider of primary electrical distribution service to the campus and 6,000 residential and commercial customers within the town of Blacksburg. By partnering with VTES, PPC will provide a single access point for operational data from the main power plant, regional utility plants and building automation systems. The tailored solution improves campus resilience and reduces energy consumption, thereby reducing costs and supporting the university’s Climate Action Plan via data-driven continuous improvement.
Fran Pierce, DSA’s Chairman and CEO noted, “With PPC’s award to develop a turnkey solution for Virginia Tech that will meet the customer’s utilities, facilities, and academic requirements, we continue to expand our solutions on university campuses where we integrate standalone systems to improve the resilience and availability of learning environments. We are proud that our solution is part of Virginia Tech’s strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030.”
