Bill Jones serves as the Senior Vice President of Corporate Initiatives and Strategic Partnerships. In this role, Bill supports operational interests across all DSA business units, focusing on operational planning, strategic growth, partner relationships, and the transition of new business. As a strategic thinker and leader, Bill works with DSA customers in building innovative solutions that improve performance in all critical mission areas of the information technology spectrum.
Bill joined DSA in 1995 as a Lead Specialist Engineer and has held key positions to include Program Manager, Program Director, Senior Director, Vice President & General Manager, and Senior Vice President of DSA's Integrated Solutions Group where he managed a diverse portfolio of programs valued over $35M in support of Air Force, DISA, and COCOM programs. Bill has 49 years of experience in telecommunications, Information Technology, defense acquisition, and project management. He served for 20 years in the U.S. Army as a Communications and Electronics Officer where he held numerous tactical and strategic positions, both in the U.S and abroad. In his last assignment at the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Bill was recognized as a subject matter expert in Pacific long haul terrestrial and satellite communications.
Bill is an advocate of the Armed Forces Communications Electronics Association (AFCEA) and currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Fort Belvoir AFCEA Chapter. He also served as the President of the Chapter, where under his leadership, the chapter awarded over $1.5 million in grants and scholarships.
Bill is the recipient of AFCEA’s Leadership, Medal of Merit, Meritorious Service, and IDEA Hero Awards for his contributions to AFCEA, Industry, and Government supporting engagement between all communities. He is also a recipient of the Northeastern Maryland Technology Council’s Innovator Award recognizing his commitment to developing a STEM-educated workforce and advancing innovation and technology. Bill holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Computer Science from the University of Maryland and Master of Science degrees in Systems Technology focusing on Joint Command Control Operations from the Naval Postgraduate School and in Systems Engineering from George Mason University.
