Description: SNIM consolidates the customer-funded
efforts of three of the DOD’s Information Analysis Centers,
which are under the direction of the Defense Technical Information
Center. The contract combines technical area tasks previously
performed under the Data and Analysis Center for Software, the
Information Assurance Technology Analysis Center and the Modeling
and Simulation Information Analysis Center.
The mission of the SNIM contract is to provide RDT&E and
R&D Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) for the
vital technical areas delineated outlined below.
SNIM Objectives:

To support the use and application of SNIM related information
technology (IT) in the design, development, testing, and
evaluation of DoD systems, military systems and military
infrastructure operated by the United States, allied and
friendly nations, and the industrial and research base and
other authorized organizations or groups which produce and
support such systems;

To conduct and/or support a wide range of SNIM related
studies, evaluations, and analysis of IT and methods;

To promote standardization within the field of SNIM related
IT in the DoD environment.
Breadth of Support:
-
Basic and applied RDT&E activities carried out by
DoD components, other U.S. Government agencies and departments
and their contractors, state and local governments, as well
as international organizations in which the U.S. Government
is a member or participant;

Military or similarly related operations conducted by
DoD components and other U.S. Government
agencies and departments or international organizations
to which the United States belongs or foreign governments
with which the United States has international agreements
for military or related operations;

Development of doctrine, tactics or plans by DoD components,
other Government Agencies and Departments, and foreign military
organizations that the Department of Defense provides military
assistance and sales;
-
Basic and applied research carried out by industry, academia,
and other institutions where the results of such research
are expected to provide benefits to the U.S. Government
in the future.
