Mike Donovan

Mike is a Senior Director for the Strategic Solutions Group (SSG) supporting Army and Joint customers. As Kathleen Kirk's Deputy, Mike helps oversee programs and strategic initiatives within the business unit. He currently supports the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD) as Program Director managing a large Knowledge Management effort. This effort includes the development of enterprise knowledge management strategies and capabilities to improve knowledge capture and dissemination. Mike has lead the development of a DSA Lean Six Sigma/Continuous Process Improvement program to help both DSA and customers find efficiencies and cost savings through process improvement.

Mike joined DSA in 2001 as a Senior Developer supporting internal Knowledge Management efforts. Mike has worked closely with multiple business units supporting IT programs across D.C. metropolitan area in his career with DSA. In 2007, Mike was promoted to Director and in 2011 moved to Aberdeen, MD to support SSG strategic business initiatives at Aberdeen Proving Grounds.

Prior to joining DSA, Mike supported the development of Knowledge Management capabilities for the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization (BMDO)/National Missile Defense (NMD). Mike’s work extended into the state and local government sector providing knowledge management support for a large consulting firm in Northern Virginia. 

Mike has a Master’s degree from the University of Virginia in Management of Information Technology (MSMIT) and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Ferrum College. He is CompTIA Security+ certified and holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
