Bill Player is responsible for DSA business cultivation, growth, and management within the U.S. Air Force. Since joining DSA, Bill manages programs and oversees business interactions from DSA’s Colorado Springs, CO, Fairfax, VA, and O’Fallon, IL, offices. He has led successful teams, supporting such efforts as Net Centric Enterprise Services (NCES), Defense Message System-Air Force (DMS-AF), Global Electromagnetic Spectrum Information System (GEMSIS), and Advanced Computer Flight Planning (ACFP). Bill joined DSA as an Operations Director in 2004, bringing his operations from Northrop Grumman and in-progress work at DISA and the Air Force Communication Agency to DSA. He was promoted to Senior Director in 2008.

Prior to joining DSA, Bill held positions with Sterling Software, Inc., Computer Associates, Inc., Logicon Inc., and Northrop Grumman, Inc., advancing in position and operational responsibilities through a series of corporate buyouts. Bill served in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years. His career highlights include superintendent of project oversight for the Defense Message System-Air Force (DMS-AF), where he designed and implemented the system utilized to track LAN/WAN infrastructure hardware/software upgrades, a portion of the DMS project, at all Air Force installations; Superintendent of Plans and Programs, Air Forces Iceland, where he managed all aspects of the installation of four Radar sites and communications for a new Command Post; Program Management Specialist at HQ Engineering Installation Division (EID), where he oversaw all upward-generated communication/computer projects for three Major Air Force Commands; and on-board computer technician aboard the E-3 Sentry AWACS aircraft, serving Air Force operations in NATO, Mid-Eastern, and U.S. environments.

Bill holds degrees of Electronics Systems Technology, Aerospace Equipment Technology, and Telecommunications Management from the Community College of the Air Force. He also holds numerous certifications and has course work in Information Technology, Business Management, and Defense Acquisition from both the University of Maryland and the Defense Acquisition University.
