VP, DSA, ELECTED TO AFCEA INTERNATIONAL TECHNICAL COMMITTEE
September 7, 2005 – Doug Wagoner , senior vice president, Data Systems Analysts (DSA), has been elected to serve a 3-year term on the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association’s (AFCEA) Technical Committee.
“DSA has been an AFCEA supporter since our company was formed,” said Wagoner. “I’m very pleased to have been elected to the Technology Committee and look forward to working with Chairman Paul Brubaker and the other government and industry leaders who serve on the Committee.”
The AFCEA Technical Committee, chaired by Paul Brubaker, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, SI International, is a group of government and industry volunteers that oversees the Association's outreach to the information technology community to cultivate a partnership between the governmental and industrial sectors of the community and to foster the application of communications, electronic processes, and IT.
The Committee’s specific objectives include:

Sponsoring and promoting discussion/interaction forums in support of government/industry interaction regarding technology adaptation.

Developing and supporting the technical program of AFCEA’s annual conference and exposition called TechNet International.

Sponsoring projects to promote AFCEA membership and support within the community, including government, industry and academia.

Providing advice and article topics for AFCEA’s journal SIGNAL.

Providing support and advice to AFCEA chapters as requested, including assistance with speakers, technical networking, and program development.

Overseeing the Association’s annual awards program for the Golden Link Award and the Awards for Excellence in IT and Engineering.
As part of its outreach, the Technical Committee conducts a series of discussion sessions on key issues facing the community. Called Tech Forums, these intimate, interactive gatherings provide government and industry members the opportunity to dialogue on specific topics of mutual interest. Tech Forums are free for all government members (federal, state, and local). There is a nominal charge for industry attendees. The most recent Tech Forum focused on the application of wireless technologies. More information is available at www.afcea.org.
