DSA Forms Federal Advisory Board
Information Technology Firm Seeks Visionaries to Help Direct Future
Fairfax, Va., October 5, 2004 - Data Systems Analysts, Inc. (DSA), an information technology solutions company, announced today the formation of a Federal Advisory Board (FAB). DSA has enjoyed rapid growth in the Defense and Intelligence marketplaces over the last three years and believes the FAB, with its members’ vast experience and insights in those arenas, will help stimulate still greater success for the company.
The initial members of the Board are David Borland, former Deputy to the Army’s Chief Information Officer (CIO/G6); Edward A. Hart, former Deputy Director of the National Security Agency (NSA) and current president, Hart Enterprises, LLC; and, Tom L. Hewitt, founder, Federal Sources, Inc.
The FAB will assist DSA, an employee-owned company, in reviewing its strategic business plan and provide guidance on how DSA can better deliver technology solutions to agencies of the federal government market.
“I am delighted DSA has attracted some of our industry’s true visionaries”, states Frances R. Pierce, DSA Chairman and CEO. “We believe the Federal Advisory Board members will help us leverage our forty years of experience to expand our presence in the Federal marketplace.”
Each Board member has a host of complementary credentials which should contribute to the FAB’s dynamics and success.
Prior to Mr. Borland’s appointment as the U.S. Army’s Deputy CIO, his career Army experience included serving as the Vice Director of Information Systems for Command, Control, Communications, and Computers (DISC4); Director of Information Systems Selection and Agency; Deputy Director of Information Systems Selection and Acquisition Agency (ISSAA); and other positions. He also served in the U.S. Air Force from 1966 through 1970.
Ed Hart is president of Hart Enterprises, LLC, an information technology consulting firm serving government, high technology startups and Fortune 100 clients. Previously, Mr. Hart served as senior vice president and Director of the Center for Information Protection with SAIC. Prior to joining SAIC, he had a long and distinguished career with the National Security Agency including serving as the Deputy Director for Information Security. As Deputy Director, he was responsible for protecting all classified information systems of the United States from the President to the soldier in the field. He serves on the board of directors of several information technology related companies.
Tom Hewitt sold Federal Sources, Inc., his market research and consulting firm focused on IT in the federal government, in 1988. Tom previously had been a senior vice president of Kentron, later acquired by PRC. He also held senior-level positions at CSC, including President of Infornet Government Systems Division and Vice President of Program Development of the Systems Group. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Business World, Inc., which trades under the name Entre Computer Center, the purpose of which is to pursue the retail micro marketplace. He spent six years with Boeing Computer Services, where he started and subsequently managed its Federal government marketing operations.
