DSA Awarded e-Solutions Contract U. S. Army Acquisition Resource Center Moves to Paperless Environment
Red Bank, NJ, September 6, 2000 – DATA SYSTEMS ANALYSTS, INC. (DSA), an information technology solutions firm, has been selected by the U. S. Army Communications Electronics Command (CECOM) to develop a system integration application which will streamline operations and efficiently manage documents. This is an important step in the process of moving CECOM towards a total paperless environment. DSA’s initial assignment will focus on two aspects of this integrated, web-enabled system:
Acquisition Resource Center (ARC)
The ARC application will provide a single entry point for all contract data processing at CECOM. From the ARC, users will have access to the Army’s Interagency Business Opportunity Page (IBOP), Project Contract Folder, reports, archives, and the CECOM Acquisition Center Knowledge Center (CAC). In addition, the ARC application will provide users with the ability to work remotely with just the use of a standard browser. Today, users have to be on site at CECOM to perform day-to-day activities.
Project Contract Folder (PCF)
The backbone of the ARC is the Project Contract Folder. This application is the central repository for contracts and ongoing projects designed as a "one stop shop" to access and share project information. The PCF will simplify the end-user process by eliminating the task of manually populating databases from paper to legacy systems and will store all procurement phases in one location, thereby promoting a paperless environment. The PCF will be directly integrated with the Interagency Business Opportunity Page, allowing industry to pass information directly to the folders.
DSA’s selection for this award is the most recent in a long-standing relationship with the U. S. Army and CECOM. The IBOP, mentioned above, is an award-winning application developed for CECOM by DSA. The IBOP received the prestigious Lotus Beacon Award for the Best e-Business Solution and the Secretary of Defense Productivity Excellence Award in 2000.
