Data Systems Analysts, Inc. Selected for DISA I Assure Program
Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Selects Team
Fairfax, VA, September 5, 2000 – DATA SYSTEMS ANALYSTS, INC. (DSA), an information technology solutions firm is a partner in the Veridian Team that has been selected by DISA to provide cyber assurance services to the DOD and other Federal agencies over the next seven years. On July 27, 2000, DISA approved the indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity multiple award contract with a ceiling of $1.5 billion for a three-year base period with four one-year options. DSA and other members of the Team w ill deliver a full range of information assurance services, including management, technologies and professional assistance.

DISA manages the Defense Information Infrastructure (DII) and provides systems support to the defense agencies, combatant commands, military services and the White House Communications Agency. According to Rich Lorenz, DSA Manager for Washington Operations, DSA has had an excellent working relationship with several agencies involved with DII programs, including the Defense Information System Network and the Defense Message System. "Over 35 years ago, DSA captured its first contract to lead the software design, development and implementation of the precursor system to the Defense Message System (DMS)," he said. "Now, DMS represents the future of messaging for the Department of Defense. We are pleased to have the opportunity to continue our involvement with a focus on information assurance."
This award means that the Veridian Team can bid for specific information assurance jobs covered by the contract over its seven-year life.
Veridian, DSA and the other partners bring a full slate of information security services to support the DISA contract including:
Managed Security Services: Complete, around-the-clock network security management implemented either at a customer’s site or from Veridian’s state-of-the-art Secure Remote Operations Center. The Secure Remote Operations Center provides intrusion prevention, detection and containment, firewall maintenance and monitoring, and secure hosting of client applications.

Secure Network Design, Integration and Operation: Integration of software and hardware from best-of-breed vendors into a network that best meets a client’s needs, including recommendations for and implementation of firewalls, computer emergency response systems and network security software tools.

Threat and Risk Assessments: Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing using an experienced, cleared team.

Incident Response and Forensics: Rapid response in case of a cyber attack, and application of forensic tools to identify perpetrators and to solve and prosecute computer-security-related crimes.
