DSA WINS BEST e-BUSINESS SOLUTION AWARD
Lotus Names Beacon Award Winners
Pennsauken, NJ, January 21, 2000 ---DATA SYSTEMS ANALYSTS, INC has been selected by Lotus Corporation as the winner of the prestigious Beacon Award for the Best e-Business Solution in the category of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM). More than 500 nominations from 40 countries were submitted this year for awards in 11 categories. The announcement was made January 18, 2000 at the Sixth Annual Beacon Awards held at Lotusphere 2000 in Orlando, Florida.

Judged by a combination of leading worldwide industry press and analysts along with Lotus executives, the Beacon Awards are given in recognition of Lotus Business Partners that have "excelled at providing quality products, innovative solutions, and superior services to customers." According to Lotus’ Award announcement, "these business partners enabled customers to reach goals above and beyond the expected. They’ve managed to raise the bar every day in an industry that is constantly evolving. They are truly superhuman."
Data Systems Analysts’ winning application, an e-procurement system developed for the U.S. Army to improve supplier relationship management, allows acquisition professionals and suppliers to post solicitations, submit proposals, perform source selection, and conduct negotiations over the Internet, resulting in measurable savings for both government and industry. Over $4 Billion in procurements are executed from this Web site, annually.
According to the Business Unit Director of DSA’s northern New Jersey office located in Red Bank, whose staff developed the award winning application, "Acquisition personnel and industry suppliers around the world can now engage in collaborative contracting and acquisition. The solution lets the Department inform industry about opportunities daily instead of weekly and can target suppliers worldwide that are interested in certain opportunities." Winning features of the application include shortening the administrative cycle time by seven business days, and providing suppliers with the ability to securely submit proposals electronically, reducing response times and costs associated with paper solicitations. Most travel-related expenses have been eliminated. Savings in one division for the first seven months were more than $200,000.
